Fiddling

I am a fiddler. I fiddle with things. I roll quarters in my hands. I bend and unbend paper clips. I like finger puzzles like Tangles. When I was little I like string games. A 24 inch long piece of string tied in a circle. Cat’s Craddle. Jacob’s ladder. The Witch’s broom. The farmer’s overalls. I like to doodle. Stillness is not one of my strongest features. I tap on things, usually my steering wheel or my keyboard. I pop my knuckles. If I have to stand around too long, I shift back and forth from one leg to the other. Fidgeting. It is not a nervousness or agitation. It is a focused distraction.
