Tune In

So, my blogger and Facebook friend Barb asked yesterday about our musical guilty pleasures. We all listed songs that we adore but we are a but chagrined to admit. The conversation was prompted by someone admitting that they like La Vida Loco by Ricky Martin. And I was stunned because who can’t shake their money maker to that song? And honestly, he is a sexy thing. Come on! But after posting my guilts: Jane’s Addiction Caught Stealing and that annoying but silly song, Hey Ricky, I started collecting songs in my head all day. These are some of my favorites in no particular order:

  • Space Oddity by David Bowie…..This is ground control to Major Tom
  • I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith
  • I Feel for You by Chaka Khan
  • We Got the Beat by the Go-go’s…seriously, how many times did I drive to this song?
  • Big Boned Gal by K. D. Lang
  • Conga by Gloria Estefan
  • The Glamorous Life  by Sheila E
  • Rico Suave by Gerardo…its the price you pay for being a gigolo

  • The Reflex by Duran Duran…..Why don’t you use it?
  • Show Me the Way by Framptom
  • Only the Good Die Young by Billy Joel
  • Born in the USA by Bruce…not because it is the best of his work but it is iconic for my freshman year in college
  • I Would Die for You by Prince
  • Tom Sawyer by Rush
  • Jamie’s Cryin’ by Van Halen
  • Jack & Diane by John Cougar [AKA Mellancamp]
  • Pride by U2 [aka In the Name of Love]
  • Jungle Love by The Steve Miller Band
  • Fire by The Ohio Players…the way you swerve and curve, really wrecks my nerve….the more elegant and smooth version of  “pop and lock”
  • Bye Bye Love by The Cars
  • Don’t Do Me Like That by The Heartbreakers
  • Give it Away by Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Don’t Stands So Close to Me by the The Police
  • Got to Get You Into My Life by Earth, Wind & Fire…..I was alone, I took a ride, I didn’t know what I would find…there…..

And some of my newest favorites include

  • Wretches and Kings by Linkin Park
