Mood and music

Music sets the mood. I often find a new piece of music and play it in heavy rotation. I play it until I know the words or the emotions it evokes are well imprinted. I will listen to a piece of music or an album from a particular time in my life and it recalls memories. I have stumble upon some very cool music as of late. The most recent addition is Thievery Corporation. I have no idea how to classify this album. I have also listened to John Legend’s new album Evolver…over and over again. Something about his voice is wonderful and after it playing over and over again, it is linked  in to a whole emotional state. Likewise, Alanis Morrissette’s Flavors of Entanglement remind me of driving recently.  I also listent to Brighteyes’ Cassadega and Cake (this website is especially fun…listen to the audio). An oldie, but tried and true is Edie Brickell and the New Bohemian’s Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars.

Always looking for new music to imprint and solidify time….old music to evoke and remind.
