Blushing rose

This is a Confederate rose (Hibiscus mutabilis). It is a woody shrub that can grow over 10 feet tall with leggy stalks. It is cold hardy in my Zone 8 but it drops all it’s leaves in winter and sprouts anew in spring. It has repeating blooms and when it blooms in the morning of it’s first day, the blooms are ivory but as the day progresses, the flower slowly turns pink and then deep fuchsia. It has no fragrance. I have seen it swarmed with colonies of aphids but is a resilient bush.
