Cookies have a healing power. There is something soothing and loving, even when you bake them for yourself. I love baking them. I love a cookie and a ice cold glass of milk. But I like sharing cookies and eating cookies with other people. I would love a brood of kids for whom I could bake double batches. There is just something profoundly optimistic about doubling a cookie recipe. These are a shortbread cookies I nipped from Lick the Bowl Good. Yum.
