A summer toast

Summer time is almost over when the champagne grapes arrive. I love these tiny gems. The are great solo or tossed into a salad. I even like them frozen. The summer starts with blueberries. Then we get blackberries. I went to Illinois to pick cherries and now the champagne grapes. And although they are store bought, they are offered in a narrow time frame making them special. I used the blueberries to make blueberry bars for the office this morning.  I ate cherry preserves I made with the sour cherries on my toasted baguette tonight. And now I munch on the tiny grapes while writing. Yum!
