Thanksgiving is a day of gathering. We gather together to ask for the Lord’s blessing. We gather to give thanks for all our abundance. It is our chance to share a meal with people we may see infrequently. It is a true joy. Even if our families are dysfunctional, the gathering is great. I believe that food equalizes most things. I prefer spending the day cooking as opposed to people coming with their pre-prepared offering. I cooked most of yesterday; we had a house full of people and everything went smoothly. We didn’t forget anything and nothing got burned. We indulged and we have tons of leftovers. It is all about the food.
These are some of my most favorite thanksgiving foods.
Spring green salad with cranberries, pecans and goat cheese.
Spinach balls served with a spicy hot mustard sauce.
