A Crown of Roses

I found the most amazing website called 59beads. I love praying the Rosary. I find great solice and peace in the string of beads. I think the mysteries of the Rosary or profound. Indeed, it would seems that the prayer beads in American culture are a predominantly Catholic article. Around the world, prayer beads are common. I love the contemplative nature of the Rosary. I have also done more indepth reading about the Rosary. Rosary: Mysteries, Meditations and the Telling of the Beads by Kevin Orlin Johnson, PhD. Alan de Rupe, who died in the 16th century, was instrumental in studying all the various bead counted Rosaries in Europe. After his death, his order, the Dominicans collected all of his writings. From those writings emerged the crystallized version of the current Rosary. It included the prayers in the order they were given to St. Dominic de Guzman through Visitations from the Blessed Mother. When we pray our Rosary we are not praying to Mary as we would God. We pray to Mary as dulia. Devotion for the Lord is latria. Only God is Divine, but through honor to Mary and the other angels and saints, I feel I increase the chorus of people supporting me and assisting me in my petitions and praise. When I am alone and lonely and feel afraid, I pray to the mother of my Lord. She so loved my Lord. The Lord so favored her above all women. She so obediently lent herself to His will. She has revealed 15 specific promises bestowed upon those who pray and pray faithfully. I prefer the Sorrowful Mysteries. I love the Fatima Prayer most of all.

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.

When I pray my Rosary, I prefer to include the mystery in each Hail Mary.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus, who agonized in the Garden, Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinner now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Thanks for the mention. I’d advise leaving the oral prayers as they are, and meditating on the Mystery while reciting them. That’s the way the Rosary works! Keep at it. As you know, it works wonders.
